A content marketing manager is a very important designation at a firm or in business as he is responsible for making a strategy, getting it implemented and later track results in terms of conversion. Before you craft a strategy, a manager must know the business model of the firm and all the old and new campaigns that bring actual business.

1. Work towards the audience

With millions of customers on social platforms and hundreds of them visiting your website, your first job is to spot the target audience. Then you need to instruct your team accordingly. For explaining the target audience to your team, talk about their behavior, location, demographics, etc so that your team has the same understanding as you have. You must also understand the challenges of your customers and address them through your content. Let your team create content that would appeal to your target audience so that you can deliver great results to your firm.

2. List your goals

As a manager, the whole department who has an eye on you for results. Thus work the smart way and make a list of all the goals that you wish to achieve. It could be to identify the target audience, driving the higher traffic, getting better engagement on social media, etc. You must get good results from each campaign; therefore, your goals should be based on campaigns as well as periodic. Few factors that you should consider while making current goals is to look at what your competitors are doing, what were your previous goals and how many were not achieved, what is your current budget etc. Also, add an estimate of conversion you are expecting.

3. Make an SEO strategy

A content manager must develop current with respect to the target keywords. Thus, research your keywords well if you want Google to display your posts and content in top search results. Each product or service must have significant keywords and these keywords need to placed perfectly in Title, Meta description, and inner content. Thus make an SEO strategy for your team so that they can follow it before working on content.
